TEREA Purple Wave: Menthol With Dark Forest Fruit

Purple Wave answers a fairly specific question: what if a menthol stick had something darker going on underneath? It is a menthol tobacco blend with dark forest-fruit notes, think of the deep, slightly tart side of berries rather than anything candied. It has no capsule, so the fruit and the cooling arrive together from the first puff.
On iqoser, Purple Wave sits between two other cool blends. Turquoise is the plain, zesty menthol. Sun Pearl is a capsule blend that starts as deep menthol tobacco and adds watermelon when you click. Knowing where Purple Wave falls between them is the easiest way to decide whether it is your blend.
The short version
- Choose Purple Wave if you want menthol with a fruit note that is always there, without any clicking.
- Choose Turquoise if you want menthol that tastes straightforward and bright.
- Choose Sun Pearl if you like the idea of starting with menthol tobacco and switching on a fruit note when you decide.
How the fruit sits on the menthol
In Purple Wave the menthol leads, but it doesn't arrive alone. The dark fruit note sits just under the cooling and gives the blend a rounder, heavier feel than Turquoise. People who find straight menthol a bit sharp often describe Purple Wave as smoother for that reason. People who want their menthol to taste only of menthol tend to find the fruit distracting.
The tobacco is still there too. Purple Wave is a menthol tobacco blend, not a fruit stick, and the tobacco base keeps the flavour grounded.
Three blends, three kinds of cool
| Turquoise | Purple Wave | Sun Pearl | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Family | Menthol | Menthol | Capsule |
| Base | Toasted tobacco with menthol | Menthol tobacco | Deep menthol tobacco |
| Extra note | Zesty edge | Dark forest fruit | Cool watermelon after the click |
| When the extra note appears | Throughout | Throughout | Only after you click the capsule |
| Anything to do during the session | No | No | Click the capsule, if you want |
The table shows the real choice. With Turquoise and Purple Wave, what you taste is fixed. With Sun Pearl, you get two experiences from one stick and you decide when to change over.
Purple Wave or Sun Pearl?
These two get compared most because both bring fruit to menthol. They do it differently.
Pick Purple Wave if
- You want the fruit note from start to finish without thinking about it.
- You prefer darker, berry-like fruit over fresher, juicier fruit.
- You don't want to handle the filter during a session.
Pick Sun Pearl if
- You like having control over when the flavour changes.
- You want some puffs to be menthol tobacco only and the rest to have a fruit lift.
- Watermelon sounds more appealing to you than dark berries.
If you can't decide, buy a pack of each and alternate. Our Sun Pearl guide explains how and when to click its capsule.
Questions to ask yourself after your first pack
A pack of 20 is enough to form a real opinion. When you are halfway through, ask:
- Do I notice the fruit, or does it disappear behind the menthol? If it disappears, you may be happier with Turquoise.
- Does the fruit start to feel like too much by the end of a session? If so, Turquoise is lighter work.
- Do I wish the fruit were juicier and fresher? Then try Sun Pearl.
- Do I find myself wanting plain tobacco some of the time? Keep a pack of Amber alongside; see the TEREA Amber guide.
Practical notes
Purple Wave works only in ILUMA-family devices such as the ILUMA i ONE. Never use TEREA in an older blade IQOS, and remember that HEETS do not work in ILUMA.
A session is the same as with any TEREA stick: insert to the line on the filter, wait about 20 seconds for preheat until you feel the second vibration and see four steady lights, then up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs. FlexPuff may add up to 4 more puffs. One stick is one session.
Purple Wave contains nicotine, which is addictive, and like every heated tobacco product it is not risk-free. The fruit and menthol change the taste, not that.
Menthol and fruit notes fade fastest in a pack left open, so close the lid after each stick and keep the pack away from heat and damp.
Buying Purple Wave
TEREA packs of 20 on iqoser are priced from ₹320 to ₹360 depending on the blend, and cartons of 10 packs from ₹3,000 to ₹3,400. The TEREA Purple Wave page shows its current price, and you can compare all seven blends in the TEREA collection. Order on iqoser.in; checkout shows the delivery options for your pincode.
Questions
What does "dark forest fruit" mean in Purple Wave?
A deep, berry-like fruit note sitting under the menthol. It is darker and less sweet than a juicy fruit flavour.
Does Purple Wave have a capsule?
No. The fruit and menthol are present from the start of the session. The capsule blends are Sun Pearl and Oasis Pearl.
Is Purple Wave colder than Turquoise?
Both are menthol-family blends. Purple Wave feels rounder because of the fruit; Turquoise feels brighter because of its zesty edge. Which seems colder is personal.
Can I use Purple Wave and a tobacco blend on the same device?
Yes. The ILUMA i ONE works the same with every TEREA blend, so you can switch freely from one stick to the next.
