IQOS in Goa: Packing, Beach Days, Battery Planning and Flights

IQOS ILUMA i ONE in Breeze Blue standing upright

A week in Goa means long days out: a morning at the beach in Palolem or Anjuna, lunch at a shack, a drive to a fort, a late dinner somewhere along the coast. If you're an adult who uses an ILUMA i ONE, the device itself is easy to travel with. The things that catch people out are running out of sticks, sand in the cap, a flat battery at sunset, and heat. Here's how to plan for each.

The packing list

  • The ILUMA i ONE, fully charged before you leave.
  • A USB-C cable, and a reputable wall adapter if your phone charger isn't USB-C.
  • Enough TEREA for the whole trip, plus a spare pack. Don't count on finding your blend once you're there.
  • A small zip-lock pouch for the device and the day's pack on beach days.
  • A hard case or a box for your packs so they don't get crushed in the suitcase.

How many packs to bring

One stick gives one session, and a pack holds 20. The quick way to work it out:

  1. Multiply the sticks you use a day by the number of days.
  2. Divide by 20 and round up.
  3. Add one spare pack.

Holidays often change your rhythm, sometimes up, sometimes down. The spare pack covers that. For a full table by trip length, see travel maths for TEREA.

Battery planning for a day out

A full charge gives about 20 sessions and takes about 90 minutes over USB-C. A typical holiday day:

  • Charge overnight at your hotel or homestay, so you leave with a full battery.
  • Count your day. If you'd normally use eight sticks over a long day out, that's well within one charge.
  • Top up at lunch if you're going to be out late and you're a heavier user. A beach shack or café with a socket and a 30-minute lunch adds some charge.
  • Don't rely on a car's USB port in the sun. The car will be hot once it's been parked, and the device shouldn't be charged or left there.

A power bank works over USB-C too. If you're flying, check your airline's rules on power banks before you pack one.

Sand: keep it out in the first place

Sand is the biggest risk on a beach day. The sliding cap protects the opening, so the habits that matter are:

  1. Keep the cap closed whenever you're not mid-session. Slide it toward the light end to open, back to close.
  2. Never put the device down on sand, a towel or a beach mat. Keep it in a pouch in your bag.
  3. Wipe your fingers before handling it after a swim or after building anything in the sand.
  4. Don't insert a stick if you think sand has got into the opening. If it doesn't work normally, contact official IQOS support.

The good news is that the ILUMA i ONE has no heating blade, so there's nothing inside for sand to stick to or wear down, and no cleaning routine.

Heat and sun

Goa in April or May is hot, and even in the December peak season the midday sun is strong.

  • Keep the device and packs in the shade, inside a bag rather than on a table in the sun.
  • Never leave them in a parked car or on a scooter seat. Rented scooters are parked in full sun all day.
  • Let the device cool to room temperature before charging if it's been somewhere warm.
  • Keep TEREA packs closed. Sea air is humid, and damp sticks taste flat.

Flying to and from Goa

Rules for carrying devices vary by airline, so check with your airline before you travel. As a general habit:

  • Keep the ILUMA i ONE in your hand luggage, never in checked baggage. Devices with batteries belong in the cabin bag.
  • Don't use it on the plane or anywhere in the airport that isn't a designated smoking area.
  • Pack TEREA in your cabin bag too if you can, so a delayed suitcase doesn't leave you without sticks.

Being a good guest

Beaches, shacks and homestays are shared spaces. Ask before using the device near others, keep it away from children, bin used sticks instead of leaving them in the sand, and respect any no-smoking signs.

Before you go

If you're buying before the trip, allow time for your order to arrive: order on iqoser.in, and checkout shows the delivery options for your pincode. The ILUMA i ONE is ₹4,990, or ₹5,290 in Electric Purple. For more travel tips, see travelling with IQOS and our beach durability guide.

The ILUMA i ONE is for adults who already smoke. It isn't risk-free, and it contains nicotine, which is addictive. Quitting completely is the best choice.

Questions

Can I take my IQOS on a flight to Goa?

Rules vary by airline, so check with yours before you fly. Keep the device in your hand luggage, never in checked baggage, and don't use it on board.

How many TEREA packs do I need for a week?

Multiply your sticks per day by seven, divide by 20, round up, and add a spare pack.

Will sand damage the ILUMA i ONE?

Keep the cap closed and the device in a pouch so sand stays out. If you suspect sand got into the opening and it doesn't work normally, contact official IQOS support.

Will one charge last a full beach day?

For most people, yes. A full charge gives about 20 sessions.
