IQOS in Noida: Working Out the Cost per Day Against Cigarettes

Plenty of people in Noida's offices, from Sector 62 to the Expressway towers, keep a rough mental tally of what their smoking costs. If you're an adult smoker weighing up the ILUMA i ONE, a rough tally isn't enough. This page walks through the arithmetic step by step, using today's prices on iqoser.in, and leaves a blank for the one number only you know: what you pay for cigarettes.
Prices change, so every calculation below says "at today's prices". The live price is always the one on the product page.
Step 1: what you'd pay per stick
TEREA comes in packs of 20 and cartons of 10 packs (200 sticks).
- Pack: ₹320–₹360, depending on blend
- Carton: ₹3,000–₹3,400
- Per stick, overall: ₹15–₹18
At today's prices, that works out like this:
| Buying | Price at today's prices | Sticks | Per stick |
|---|---|---|---|
| A pack | ₹320–360 | 20 | ₹320 ÷ 20 = ₹16, up to ₹360 ÷ 20 = ₹18 |
| A carton | ₹3,000–3,400 | 200 | ₹3,000 ÷ 200 = ₹15, up to ₹3,400 ÷ 200 = ₹17 |
So a stick costs roughly ₹15–18 at today's prices, with cartons at the lower end.
Step 2: what you'd pay per day
One TEREA stick gives one session, so sticks per day is the number that drives everything. Multiply it by the per-stick cost.
| Sticks a day | Per day, buying packs (₹16–18 a stick) | Per day, buying cartons (₹15–17 a stick) |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | ₹80–90 | ₹75–85 |
| 10 | ₹160–180 | ₹150–170 |
| 15 | ₹240–270 | ₹225–255 |
| 20 | ₹320–360 | ₹300–340 |
Example: at 10 sticks a day from cartons, 10 × ₹15 = ₹150 up to 10 × ₹17 = ₹170 a day, at today's prices.
Step 3: spread the device cost
The ILUMA i ONE is ₹4,990 in four finishes and ₹5,290 in Electric Purple. It's a one-off cost, so it helps to spread it over the time you expect to use it.
At today's prices, for the ₹4,990 finishes (₹4,990):
- Over 6 months (about 180 days): ₹4,990 ÷ 180 ≈ ₹28 a day
- Over 12 months (365 days): ₹4,990 ÷ 365 ≈ ₹14 a day
For Electric Purple (₹5,290), over 12 months: ₹5,290 ÷ 365 ≈ ₹14.5 a day.
Step 4: fill in your own cigarette cost
We won't guess what you pay for cigarettes; it varies too much. Work it out yourself:
- Take the price you pay for one pack of cigarettes. Call it ₹X.
- Divide by the number of cigarettes in the pack. That's your cost per cigarette, ₹C.
- Multiply ₹C by the number you smoke a day. That's your daily spend now.
Now compare it with Step 2 at the same number of sticks a day. If you smoke 10 cigarettes a day and would use 10 TEREA sticks instead, the daily difference is 10 × (₹C − your TEREA cost per stick).
Step 5: does the device pay for itself?
That depends entirely on whether ₹C is higher or lower than your TEREA cost per stick. Here are some scenarios, using 10 a day and the ₹4,990 price of ₹4,990 at today's prices:
| If each cigarette costs you... | Daily difference at 10 a day | Days to cover ₹4,990 |
|---|---|---|
| ₹5 more than a TEREA stick | ₹50 saved | 4,990 ÷ 50 ≈ 100 days |
| ₹2 more than a TEREA stick | ₹20 saved | 4,990 ÷ 20 ≈ 250 days |
| The same as a TEREA stick | ₹0 | Never |
| Less than a TEREA stick | You'd spend more each day | Never |
Be honest with yourself here. If your cigarettes cost less per stick than TEREA, switching won't save you money, and that's fine to know up front.
Step 6: the number that beats all the others
At 10 a day, TEREA costs ₹150–180 a day at today's prices, which is ₹4,500–5,400 over 30 days. Whatever you spend on cigarettes now, quitting altogether saves all of it, and it's the best thing you can do for your health. Our quit-smoking guide covers free support, including the national quit line.
Ways to keep the running cost down
- Buy cartons once you've chosen a blend. At today's prices that's about ₹1 less per stick than buying packs. Our pack vs carton guide compares them in detail.
- Count your sticks. One stick is one session; heating a fresh one out of habit adds up fast.
- Don't buy a carton of a blend you haven't tried. Test with a pack first.
The honest bit
Cost aside, the ILUMA i ONE is for adults who already smoke. Switching completely reduces exposure to many harmful chemicals compared with cigarettes, but lower exposure hasn't been shown to mean lower disease risk, it's not risk-free, and nicotine is addictive.
