TEREA in Bangalore: Pack or Carton for a Daily User?

By the iqoser team · Updated · 4 min read

A pack of TEREA Silver heated-tobacco sticks

If you use TEREA every day, you'll eventually face the same small decision every month: another pack, or a carton? Plenty of people in Bangalore order the way they pay rent, once a month around payday, and want to know whether a carton is actually worth it. Here's the arithmetic, shown in full, with today's prices.

The basics

  • A pack has 20 sticks: ₹320–₹360 depending on blend.
  • A carton has 10 packs, 200 sticks: ₹3,000–₹3,400.
  • One stick is roughly one session.

Prices change, so every rupee figure below is at today's prices (packs ₹320–360, cartons ₹3,000–3,400). Check the live price on the product page before ordering.

Step 1: per-stick cost

  • From packs: ₹320 ÷ 20 = ₹16, up to ₹360 ÷ 20 = ₹18 a stick.
  • From cartons: ₹3,000 ÷ 200 = ₹15, up to ₹3,400 ÷ 200 = ₹17 a stick.

So a carton works out about ₹1 a stick less, comparing the low ends and the high ends. Put another way, ten packs bought one at a time come to ₹3,200–3,600, against ₹3,000–3,400 for the same 200 sticks in a carton: a difference of about ₹200 per 200 sticks.

Step 2: how long each lasts

Sticks a day A pack lasts A carton lasts
5 4 days 40 days
8 2.5 days 25 days
10 2 days 20 days
15 about 1.3 days about 13 days
20 1 day 10 days

Working: days = sticks in the box ÷ sticks a day. A carton at 10 a day: 200 ÷ 10 = 20 days.

Step 3: per month, both ways

Taking a 30-day month:

Sticks a day Sticks a month As packs Monthly cost, packs As cartons Monthly cost, cartons Difference
5 150 7.5 ₹2,400–2,700 0.75 ₹2,250–2,550 about ₹150
10 300 15 ₹4,800–5,400 1.5 ₹4,500–5,100 about ₹300
15 450 22.5 ₹7,200–8,100 2.25 ₹6,750–7,650 about ₹450
20 600 30 ₹9,600–10,800 3 ₹9,000–10,200 about ₹600

Working for the 10-a-day row: 10 × 30 = 300 sticks. As packs, 300 ÷ 20 = 15 packs, and 15 × ₹320 = ₹4,800 up to 15 × ₹360 = ₹5,400. As cartons, 300 ÷ 200 = 1.5 cartons, and 1.5 × ₹3,000 = ₹4,500 up to 1.5 × ₹3,400 = ₹5,100.

The difference grows with how much you use, roughly ₹1 per stick.

When a carton makes sense

Tick these off:

  1. You've settled on a blend. You've used at least a couple of packs of it and you're not still comparing.
  2. You use it every day. At five or more a day, a carton lasts 40 days or less.
  3. You have somewhere cool and dry to keep it. A cupboard in your flat, not a shelf by a sunny window.
  4. You'd rather order less often. One order a month or so instead of several.

If all four are true, a carton is the sensible buy.

When packs are better

  • You're still exploring blends. Packs let you try Amber, Silver and Turquoise without committing to 200 sticks of one.
  • You use TEREA occasionally. If a carton would sit around for months, the extra rupee a stick isn't worth the storage hassle or the risk of stale packs.
  • You like rotating. Some people keep one tobacco and one menthol on the go; two packs suit that better than one carton.

Storing a carton in Bangalore

Bangalore's weather is gentle, but the monsoon months bring damp.

  • Keep packs inside the carton until you need them.
  • Open one pack at a time and close it between sticks.
  • Keep the carton away from the bathroom, the kitchen and sunny windowsills.

One more number worth seeing

At 10 a day, TEREA comes to ₹4,500–5,400 a month at today's prices, depending on how you buy. Quitting saves all of it, and it's the single best thing you can do for your health. If you're considering it, our quit-smoking guide lists free support.
